Davenport Real Estate Community Information
Davenport is a small town, situated in both Polk County and Osceola County, Florida, running mostly along Interstate 4. Davenport is located 37.5 miles southwest from downtown Orlando, 38.3 miles northwest of Orlando International Airport, 23.5 miles from Walt Disney World, 28 miles from Universal Orlando, and about 26 miles from SeaWorld Orlando. Originally known as Horse Creek, the town of Davenport got its start in the 1880’s, when the South Florida Railroad extended into its area. Eventually, in 1915, the city incorporated and now, it’s known a popular location for second homes, primarily in the northeast region.
Davenport real estate is diverse, mostly offering single family properties and condos. Prices range between the low to mid $100’s up to the low to mid $200’s and there are three notable communities in Davenport: Bahama Bay, ChampionsGate, and Regal Palms. Each offers its own resident amenities but all are wonderful places to live.
Bahama Bay is a vacation community with 500 condos, ranging in price from $75,000 to over $200,000 and in square footage from just over 1,100 square feet to 1,700 square feet. This community was first developed in 1996 and construction continues to this day. ChampionsGate is a golf community, offering 500 single family properties and condos ranging in price from $75,000 to over $500,000. Square footage ranges from 1,100 to more than 4,000 square feet. The community was first developed in 2000 and building continues. Regal Palms is a 598 vacation townhouse community, ranging in price from $90,000 to more than $175,000. Square footage ranges between 1,425 and 1,856 square feet and the community was developed from 2003 through 2007.
Schools serving the city of Davenport include: Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, a charter, kindergarten through 6th grade school, Four Corners Charter School, kindergarten through 5th grade, Davenport School of the Arts, pre-K through 8th grade, and Ridge Community High School.
